Henry with his lion from "cousin" Libby. Henry kept hitting the IV with his knee so it is a buffer.

Henry is truly an amazing little boy. He is practically breaking records on recovery (must get that from Granddad). The cardiologist had to stop yesterday and said "we have to remember he is not even 24 hours post-op yet so lets slow down a bit and run a few tests". After passing the tests with flying colors they removed the ventillator, the tube in his stomach and the IV that they had started in Ronan in his umbilical cord. He is breathingg on his own with just a hint of O2 but they said as soon as he belts out a few cries or a good cough he will be off of that. After doctor rounds this morning they ordered his chest tube (for drainage) and his difibulator (the just in case) wires to be removed. Concentration today, I was told will be on eating - you can hear his poor little tummy growling. I am very excited about the feeding part - each step is a little bit closer to normal. Below is a close up of the difibulator wires (tiny yellow ones) - as the surgeon said if they were neeeded it is not quite as dramatic as it is on tv :-)

He looks great!!! Thank you for the updates, they are the first thing I check every day. Everyone has been saying it, but I feel the need to reiterate what amazing strength, optimism and fortitude the two of you have shown through this ordeal. What lucky children you have. I also have to say that George is just about the cutest kid I have EVER seen- I met him at Jon and Mick's and fell instantly in love. I am sure you ache with missing him. Can't wait until I hear that you are all home together and Debbie is running to keep up- it won't be long, God willing.
Thoughts and prayers are with you today, as everyday.
