Hello from Seattle,
Henry says hello to all. Right now Henry is being rocked by mommy. Both look fantastic. It is really nice that we are able to hold Henry. After the surgery I don't think we will be so fortunate so we are both getting lots of time right now. The NICU here at Seattle Childrens is amazing. We have had amazing care and attention. The nurses in here do 99% of the care and they are sharp. Then many times daily we get to see doctors that stop and just check in and go over things with us. Since this whole thing started from birth on we have been blessed with the most amazing people taking care of us from Ronan to Seattle.

Debbie and I are staying at the hospital. We have a very small room that is directly upstairs from the NICU. We are able to be in the room at all times which we are. Sleeping has been no problem by the time we actually make it to a bed. Yesterday Debbie said that she was going to drop stuff off in the room and she would be right down. An hour later I went up to check on her only to find her sleeping half on the bed. What is worse is I laid down to give her a hug and I fell asleep right next to her. Neither of us really on the bed. We have been getting a routine down and getting sleep time but it always feels best to be in the room with Henry.

Henry had another good night. His numbers are stable and they are starting to give him things that are needed for his surgery on Wednesday. The surgery is called the Great Artery Switch. They will be swapping his aorta and his pulmonary artery. There is also some variations to this with relocation of the coronary arteries and ensuring that his aorta is proper size for the active life that Henry will have. Once surgery begins it will be a lot of waiting and then we move to a Cardio NICU that is suppose to be a little scary but very good. Henry has not lost much weight. He is still around 7lbs 5 ounces. He has yawned a lot. He sneezes. He tries to pull wires out with his hands. He sort of likes his binky. He sleeps well when the music is playing. Last night they let him sleep on his stomach and really slept well I am looking at his numbers right now and his oxygen levels, which is what we watch most are both at 90% which is abnormally high for what he has. Good high so we will take it. The usually go from 70s to 80s. The goal is to be able to o2 levels in the upper 90s when all this is done.

Again thanks for the e-mails, texts, and posts. We look forward to checking them during the day. We are all well. One thing is for sure, I am going through major George withdrawls. I will write more soon.
Cheers,
Daddy

Henry and Debbie look just beautiful! He did pick the best family to be born into --- and extended family. I also think from what you've been writing that he is strong little guy. He also has a lot of love, support and top quality medical care to get him through this rough spot. Staunton and I are sending lots of love and prayers. We are happy that you can have the time to hold him and be together.
Love,
Annie and Staunt
